I've got a spare 17inch tft computer monitor lying around and was thinking of using it as a tv.
I've got a freeview tuner, is it possible to connect it up to the monitor?
If so what type of cable would I need.
any helps much appreciated, cheers Phil.

That's not what he wants tho.
I read it that he want to use a 17" TFT screen as a TV. That link above is a cable so you can use a TV as your monitor.

do you just want to use the monitor for a games console ?? or do you want to use it to watch tv on
a normal monitor to compisite/svideo are aroun £30-40 for a decent one
if you wanna use the monitor as a tv the standalone adapters start aroun £40 and go up to £150 depending wether or not you want freeview (dvb built in)
if you want a decent analoge tv on the AVer tv 7 is a good one to go for
if you want freeview as well then get a AVerTV DVB-T
neither are cheap but you get what you pay for
