Psp for ..... adult games
Ds for fun games
I have both and have just sold me ds on ebay because i use my psp so much

tbh I got bored very quickly of my psp, its now been relegated to an in-car MP3 player type affair (the 10hr battery life playing mp3's is ok)
DS is much more fun, more variety of games!

I've got a PSP, more suited to the serious complex games imo, whereas the DS is more suited to the fun arcade games. Both a bit thin on good games though.

DS has far more better games, yeah i agree the DS has more fun games, but ain't that the whole idear of handhelds?
I am not biased as i have a PSP too, mostly use it for the media functions and the home brew

I meant fun as in Mario type games where the PSP seems to be more about simulations/RPG etc. Would be good if the PSP had more of that and vice versa for the DS I would imagine.

dunno if i wanted to play a simulation or rpg i'd crack out the ps2, 360, gamecube or pc
Ridge Racer, Smart Bomb, THUG2, streetfighter & Mega man powered up are the best PSP games imo
New Mario Bros, Tetris, Zoo Keeper, Resi Deadly Silence, Mario Kart are the best on the DS
As i said mostly use the PSP as a emulator and media player on flights

psp is good if you wanna play old emu, such as the old snes/nes, they are even working on n64 emu, and its good for media both video and audio,
some good games for it, but most of the games arent really 5 minute blast games you will need a while to sit and play,
if you get one make sure it is downgradable as the functionallity is in the older 1.5 firmware for homebrew,

never played a ds so cant comment on that, however ds looks like there are more 'fun' '5 minute wonder' games

I'm looking at getting a PSP - been put off the DS cos of the awful adverts on Channel 4 for rubbish DS games 'Brain Training' anyone????
Only thing is, £150 for the PSP and £40 a game seems pretty steep!

ah - fair enough, mate said £40 so i never checked it - would appear that you're right though, under £20-£30 seems much more reasonable.....think i'll be getting a PSP at the weekend

so i know everything about the psp and ds, i really dont know were to start................
it really depends what you want from the console...
the psp has the largest screen for a handheld console, and price start from £180 for value pack and £215 for giga pack(giga pack black colour is going to be discontinued soon) dont bother with the 149.99 base pack! the psp is basically a portable ps2, many games are just cut down version of the ps2 version, but are still great! most games priced at £29.99. its a full multimedia device as it plays games, movies, music and mpeg4 movies and internet browser.
we get so many faulty returns on these!! sony really have made them very badly!!(dead pixels, umd motor faults, button sticking, analogue button stuck)
however the ds lite is a much more durable and solid console and at £100 its a bargain and has clearly taken over the handheld market at the moment! with some great fun games such as mariokart and the new super mario bros. you can interact with games well from the 2 screens of which one is a touch screen so these elements make gameplay far more fun, it is however just a gaming console unlike the psp! graphic wise its like playstation one. most ds games priced at 29.99
i have both, and although they are compeletly different consoles with psp aimed at 12+ age and ds at the younger market, i like both just as much as each other, however their is a lack of psp games at the moment and many customers have aslo mentioned this!

hmm i wouldnt say ds is aimed at a younger market at all, with the advertising ect cant remeber much but im sure ive seen lots of adverts for ds on late night post pub programs, friday night project ect. nintendo them selves also sai that the ds is aimed at a huge target audience, hence brain train ect; basically trying to get a vast ammount of age groups intrested in the console.
psp i would say it aimed at a higher group than age 12 (all though they obviously are attractive to that age group), but having it so highly priced and with all the media capabilities, and design (very fragile) says to me they were going for a higher targe age.
This is sort of re-inforced with the adverts they used for the psp, very highy sexed and quite contraversial.

I was planning on getting a PSP from Argos - they've got the base pack (£149.99), accessories pack and a game for £169.99 which beats the game price. Think I'll end up also getting a decent case for it too as like you say, heard a few people mention its fragility.
