May be worth looking into this:

http://www.moneyfacts.co.uk/cards/bestbuys/cards_balance_rates.aspx

And some info on Loans...

Never done it myself but I know a few people who've transferred the CC balance to another one which is interest free. There's always the worry of getting in a never ending cycle but i'm sure a few on here have posted similar topics before and can help

If you are paying less interest it can only be better.

I'd move it about on interest free cards until it was down though.

Lower interest - of course its better.

Personally I would be moving it to a 0% introductory rate with another card rather than incurring interest just for the sake of loyalty.

I wouldnt recomend getting a loan as I got a loan to pay off credit cards and then would still use the credit card in emergencies and would then have to top my loan up to pay of the credit card again. I now have a £20K loan, so I agree with what people are saying move it about of 0% free credit cards. Getting a loan is a slippery slope down and I cant wait to get rid of mine. Big mistake

I know a lad that got out a loan, but the interest is very high on it, and hadn't been long paying it back. So he has got another loan for a larger amount with lower interest to pay back the smaller loan and also have a little bit of money extra to help buy himself a house and add bits to his car

Worth it if the interest is small enough i guess!

I got 3 credit cards, transfered balance to my account. Paid loan off and it gave me 6 months on one card, 12 on other two cards beofre interest started.

I managed to get just under £8k paid off in 8 months and its a great feeling !!

As long as you destroy the credit card and cancell it after you have taken out the loan it can only be better, you carnt re-spend the money you pay off on a loan like you can on a credit card.
As holly said its dangerous i ow £20k in loans its not a great feeling

Moving to lower interest is a good idea.

Continuing to spend on the borrowing that you clear is bad.
