TNM u heard of a program called VNC. we used to use this but think it only works to PC's on the same domain etc. connected through IP

VNC yep.

Dont need to be on the same domain. just have the correct ports open on the firewall and make sure if your coming from external IP that you are getting forwarded to the machine with it installed.

Great free software for what it is.

yeh was helpful wen we had to assist people that were in other buildings and couldn't find start

What features does it have?


its just a remote access software so you can control the computer at the other end. Think the newer version have file transfere on them as well.

Not used it for 18 months though.

yes we use this and also Netop.

The best one for me at the moment is Dameware as it installs it on the remote PC as you try to connect to it

Logme in is ok but I would have thought a compoany would not use this as the primary connection to clients

We use this for internal stuff but VNC is what we normally use internally

dameware make netop i think.

We have some users on a seperate domain because they cant be trusted and we use netop for them.

VNC is useful for getting client computers to connect to you if they dont really know what they are doing, i use remote desktop most of the time tho
