my new plasma tv only has one component in connection!!
but i need to connect 2 devices!!

can i just get a few of those y splitter adaptors from maplins and use them??
what are the positive and negatives about this??
can it damage the devices or tv, loss of quality?? etc

I think you would need to get a switcher box, not a Y splitter as if both input devices were on at the same time it could possibly damage the circuitry but also the tv wouldnt be able to select which signal to display as they would be merged.

You will need something like this

although there may well be cheaper ones around, or even get a home cinema amp/receiver with component switching on it and get surround out at the same time
