Took it out today started and ran fine, when i went to return home it started fine then the engine management light came on and it died! It does start but dies after 10-20 seconds. Any ideas what this could be?

yep robins defo right i tried loads of guessing with afm etc etc ended up being hall sensors and ecu so defo need to flash the codes matey

the plug is in the fuse box and its pin 5 and 6 on the left handside

Last night the alarm went off due to the battery being dead. So ontop of the problems it has its now not starting and the battery is being drained. Joy of joys. Any ideas?
