Someone has managed to create a near enough replica of the iphone interface for windows pocket pc's - it even has the famous finger scroll function.
Apple are already on the case though and is sending the big boys around to do the dirty and force people to stop sharing links to videos/downloads and anything related to it...bit harsh to be honest 
p.s - link works at the moment, but im sure youtube will close it soon

It looks like we (Vodafone) are close to securing the exclusive rights to the iPhone 
Makes enormous sense from Apple's point of view as ona pan-European basis nobody can match our footprint direct BUT they kind of people who will be attracted to the iPhone are not necessarily the kind of people we generally target but hey-ho... also out US company, Verizon Wireless, deferred and allowed AT&T (Cingular Wireless) to take the deal in the U.S...
Please god don't let them release it on PAYT

TBH it was nothing special, just made the front screen look like the iPhone but all the decent features of it werent there.

iphone is a crock of shit anyway.
Typical people concerned with image to be buying one. (the same people who say pda's etc are too "big" )

have you had a go on one yet Jambo to have this opinion?
Ive read good and bad reviews so far, buts its kind of another PS3 vs 360 battle. Apple fan boys will like it, Apple haters will dislike it.....before even having a go.

its nothing you cant allready get. Fair enough the mac interface will apeal to a few people. But its more than likely going to be this years adui tt drivers number #1 fashoin accesory even though he only uses it to make phone calls.
Im sure it will be "good" and well made etc etc. But thats not the point. Its like Panasonic saying "here it is the new P phone it has a camera on it  " When there are allready a number of competitors whove been there and done that.

I wouldnt mind one, but only think that will be a bit shit will be the txting.
Looking at the apple website, the way msgs are stored etc looks wank imo.

I think that looks good. The way it shows up past messages with them in a sort of MSN convo kind of way. Makes it easier when having a conversation over text!

It was very interesting. The guy that developed it thought everything the iPhone does you could code in without too much work.
Cosmo - What major features were missing from the demo, two of the main ones of the phone are the unlock and scrolling. Alot of the others bits are just apps like the voicemail, syncing your phonebook (I did laugh at the emphasis put on this during the launch)

the typing interface wasnt there, the musicy type part (with the scrolling through CD art to pick, etc.)
It was basically just the look of the front page, everything behind that was just normal PDA apps.

yea, but apples precious finger scroll got reproduced, on a windows CE/Mobile PDA! And like said, the main features are just apps plus certain function can't be reproduced like tilting the screen into portrait/landscape modes (no title-sensor on pda/trios etc).
If apple didn't pull out the laywers on the chap then im sure he would have continued to add more features to it.
Eitherway, it demostrates that once again Apple hasn't done anything impressive

I agree that that not everything is there like Album art (which personally I find useful - something that looks great but is not really any easier to use)
It will be interesting to see if someone out there now trys to develop the software. Supprised that he has not leaked it himself. Change a few bits to make it different and then IMo it would be very hard to prove he leaked it.

its not out until June/July in the US, so I wouldnt expect it out until end of summer at the earliest IMO.
Will probably be about £300-400.
