I have a sportex decat here, with an integrated silencer, after reading the threads on the search, i'm in 2 minds as to whether to fit it or not

Would it be ok to use with the standard system? What gains/losses would I be looking at...poor fuel consumption?

ive just de-catted my x14xe...the x14 and x16 are renowned for highly restricted inlets and high density cats...ive took the cat off and put on a de-cat pipe and had 2weeks of use now...mine isnt silenced so its very loud but a good sound system sorts that out, fuel consumption is as good if not better...easier engine breathing can aid the consumption of fuel occasionally especially if ur engines ecu is fuelling correctly...
the power gains are noticeable with manifold and full stainless system

I've got the sportex one with silencer, think they are designed to work with standard system, mine is using remus centre pipe and I just needed a small section of pipe to go in between the decat and centre pipe which was available from vauxhall. Doesnt make any difference to the noise of the car, definitely noticed a small gain in performance though.
