So what stage are you at...have you put an offer in? Arnt you meant to do all the searches and investigations before this?
Or is it done different in Sccoootland?

our offer has been accepted... so its ours 'subject to survey and valuation'
Basically we've been offering on places without doing surveys (without even seeing some of the properties actually )....
If there is anything brought up in the survey we can pull out or whatever

most bids in scotland go in subject to survey....
some properties can have 20+ people bidding on them at the closing date so you wouldn't want to be surveying every property and then not getting it.
After that, the solicitor gets all the searches etc and if anything comes up in them you can either pull out or retain money until they are cleared.
