tv screens are alot cheaper than pc screens too

Can only be done with a LCD or Plasma with a VGA cable? You can use a SVHS cable to watch films but the resolution isnt good enough to use as a monitor.

yes you can get DVI converters, what inputs does the TV have?

i have a 21" dell monitor, was just tempted to sell and get a big 40" lcd instead

DVI will give you the optimum picture quality so get a tv with a DVI input.
