My machanic can't do it, he said it needs to be sent of and sweated onto the con-rod

He doesn't know anywhere who could do it, nor do I.

Anyone know anywhere who could offer such a job?

its not hard all you have to do is press the old gudgeon pins out and then sweat the new pistons on.my old place could do it for you no problem.and it wouldnt cost that much.

you have to heat the rods so that the new gudgeon pins slide through it. then then when it cools it grabs onto the pin

i'll u2u you there number and you can speak my old gaffa about doing it

im not sure as ive never done those type of rods and pistons.but they are eva sweat on or they use cerclips.if its the cerclip type they are even easier to do.

im not sure too.but if they are then its easy to do just make sure you put the pistons on the right way

std vaux is interfrence fit isnt it... so would need pressed in/heated etc.

C20XE are anyway...

I used a wooden dive and a mallet to bash out the fucked on my old rod's/pistons

Nope, not clipped in, found out today when we removed the old pistons.

when i used to put pistons on to conrods, i was taught to put the 'pin end' of the piston under hot running water, then the new gudgeon pin slides through dead easy! because aluminium/accralite heats up at a quicker rate than the steel gudgeon pin, therefore expands first and allows the 'unexpanded' steel pin to slide through.... or summat.

use an oven and a fridge, put the piston in the oven at about 100 degrees for 30 mins and the pin in the freezer they should go together fine.

Ok mate i'll do that. But how do you get the old pin out, and what about the conrod's? put them in the oven too?

you need to press the old ones off.you have to be carefull when you putting them on though.
