My car is now seriously doing my head in!! It will tick over at 2k on cold start, and once warmed up it searched between 2k to 3k to 4k revs on idol!!

Anyone any ideas what the hell it could be!!!??

Its a 1.4 sport.

probably the icv, I just had to replace mine on my 1.4 sri, was idling really high, replaced the icv and it's fine now, but it could be something else

Is the ICV on these engines part of the throttle body?

The EML is on already as the car has no lambda sensor atm

Throttle position sensor.

Get a lamber sensor, then see if the EML is still on.
