I have Kaspersky Anti Virus, i used to use NOD32 for a while. Both are very good, seem to be better than Norton etc etc.

agree^^ used to use Nod32 and swore by it, but now i use AVG Free and most people will also swear by that.
dont go down the norton/McAfee route imo.

i installed AVG and my pc wouldnt boot up. Im still on XP if it makes a difference.

I wouldnt use AVG but thats my opinion, do you have a previous anti virus installed still? even if its disabled it can cause major problems.
Could already have a virus wich is causing problems with booting up as the anti virus has been installed. could be a number of things realy.
Do you know any computer geeks close by to you, get them to take a look at it. if you dont then i can probably help out.
