Yep, i cleaned it off the other day thought it might just be old crap on there, but oil does seem to be leaking out just from looking under the bonnet. What needs to be done to sort it, havnt got a clue??? Cheers

ive got a little leak as well on my 98 Corsa Sport 1.4. Seems to be only a small leak. When i bought the car it was bone dry so i put a litre of oil in and it seemed to go through it within about 3 weeks and on my road theres little little patches of oil. When I looked after stopppin a couple of drips really.
When i look from the top of the car witht he bonnet open i can see the leak there.
Think its the rocker cover gasket, just havent a clue where to buy them from, I know there not that expensive.

j - get pics of the engine bay if you can.
DannyParker - The rocker cover gasket is easy to do.... you can get a new gasket from any auto parts place in your area.
It will just be torx bolts on the top, undo the take the complete rocker cover off, you will see your camshafts. the gasket may be stuck onto the underside of the rocker cover as it gets hard and brittle. it was on mine.. I used a flat screwdriver to get the old gasket off... clean it up with a rag then put the new gasket on and clean up the top of the cylinder head then put the rocker cover back on and redo the torx bolts...

you can do the rocker cover yourslef... both gaskets wont be more than £10 each.. unless you know what your doin take it to a garage to get the sump gasket done as you may have to take part of/all of the exhaust off to do it

Cheers, will take it to a garage for the sump gasket i think, better safe than sorry. Done well though, iv had it 6 months, its got 111111 on the clock, iv done 11000 miles, never had one problem with it, not one, only failed the MOT on insecure headlights, and cv joint, quite proud of it lol
Thanks for the help guys, gotta love this site, is the people like you that make it what it is really
