DONT KNOW IF THIS WORKS, I DIDNT WRITE IT
FREE SKY PPV
I am passing on some neat info which works on most systems and might save you a packet.
It is working for thousands of systems right now. The guide contains engineer's information, which is available in the public domain that allows the reception of pay per view channelson sky including XXX, sports events, and every thing else that is paid for via the telephone line on the Sky network.
DISCLAIMER
This information is provided for information purposes only. We do advocate the use of any of the material contained herein. This document is provided as is, and is in no way intended to encourage piracy or theft, even if nobody, not even Sky will ever know.
COMPATIBILTY
We have been told that this works on about 85% of sky boxes and may not work on the latest Skyplus boxes. Ebay however sells Sky boxes cheap if you have problem with the work rounds. If you fall into the 15% buy another box or sell the file to your neighbour and friends but please no negative feedback for something out of my control. Good luck.
Services and Products
TEST TEST TEST
Always test before running the bill up. This is a solid piece of financial advice. Method 3 should be used whilst waiting to see if method 1 and 2 tests work for you. Method 3 is guaranteed by virtue of no physical connection to Sky billing see below.
METHOD 1
Unlocking Sky Box Office
This is a Sky engineers trick to check all the PPV channels. It is based on the fact that all the Sky box needs to activate a movie or event of your choice is an active phone line which it will use to send details of the films / events you have watched to Sky so they can bill you at the end of the month. There is a 'secret' installers menu which allows you to add a prefix to the Sky phone number (191 for an outside line in a hotel for example). All you need to do is add a false prefix to scramble the Sky telephone number and the box can never phone Sky to report the billing but as the Sky box still has an active telephone line you get the PPV for free. The step by step instructions are below. It is this easy, thousands are enjoying free PPV.
Here's how to do it
On the remote control
Press' Services'
Press ‘4’ (system setup)
Press '0' then '1' then 'Select' (to activate 'secret' menu)
Press '3' (telephone settings)
Scroll to 'Dialling prefix'
Enter a prefix of your choice (NOT 999 or 112, you don't want the emergency services gate crashing: 'single digit like 9 is enough')
Scroll to 'Save New Settings' and Select
Some boxes will not save the Prefix if they can’t call back so try next method.
If successful the box will generate an internal error message when attempting to send Sky
your viewing Information, which will not affect your viewing pleasure Just their billing information.
Order a movie and check your next bill to see if it worked.
Use method 3 until you’re sure
Your done
better method
METHOD 2
Unlocking Sky Box Office
Here's how to do it:
Go to a box office channel you want to watch
Press ‘Select'
You will be asked for your pin number (do not enter this yet)
Unplug your digital box from the telephone line
Enter your pin number
The PPV will show
Resetting the digital box (so sky will not know you have watched the PPV when the phone line is reconnected)
After you have watched your PPV
Unplug sky digital box from the mains for at least 5 minutes
Plug your box back in to the mains and then plug the telephone back
Note, this method will generate an error message as the system is reset, the same as would happen If you had a power cut Take a look at your bill to verify if this method works for you at the end of the month!
Use method 3 until you're sure
Your done!
METHOD 3
Unlocking Sky Box Office
(Magic Box sells for £50 In places )
This method is very simple and works with every box so I have heard it is as easy as putting a plug on. Don't be put off by the wire twisting it is very simple, takes minutes and is full proof. Those capable can get inventive and use a phone extension cable which saves you cutting the cable (which the dog chewed through if anyone ever asks).
Materials:
9V Battery (same as a smoke alarm battery with -and + on top PP9 type)
Wire strippers / scissors / sharp blade
Instructions:
Disconnect the phone line from the back of the Sky box and the wall
Cut the line in half about half way down
Use only the half that connects to the Sky box as you are no longer required to be connected to the phone socket
Strip al14 colours so you can see the wires inside (green, yellow, red, black)
Join by twisting the yellow and green together
Join by twisting the black and red together
Note if you don't have the 4 colours as described, the black and red always join together
and the other two wires whatever their colour are joined together
You should have 2 wires of 2 joined together
Connect the red and black wire on plus + of battery (use tape or similar)
Connect the yellow and green on the minus -of the battery
Now plug the telephone wire into skybox whilst connected to battery
Go to a box office channel you want to watch
Press' Select'
Enter your pin number
After the PPV orders disconnect the battery and phone cable from Sky box
The PPV will show
Next time you want to order, connect battery and cable and order
Remember to remove the cable and battery after PPV orders
Note if you connect the phone line cable between the wall socket and the Sky box the Skybox will upload the billing information as it retains this information. Reset the Sky box as described in Method 2 as this will remove this information if you ever need to reconnect to Sky billing (see next).
You should never need to reconnect your phone socket on the wall back to your skybox. Sky updates through the satellite on your house and not through the phone line like some people will tell you. You are however contractually (bite me) obliged to have your phone line connected to your Sky Digibox within the first 12 months of your contract so bear this in mind. If the cable between the Skybox and telephone socket on the wall is never connected Sky cannot know what you are watching.

All that all of them do is make the box think it can't contact sky.
If they sky system is down etc they won't want you missing the film so it shows you the movie anyway.
I've never had it confirmed if resetting the box actually does get rid of the saved info or not though, I doubt it does tbh, far too easy a way out considering the lengths sky go to.

You're right, John. The boxes have a predefined credit limit, i'm sure it's £100. Once you've watched £100 worth of movies the box won't let you have box office anymore until it's been able to contact SKY (with an active phonline). Then SKY will send you a bill for £100. This is the case on those magic boxes especially. I'm not sure about the turning off trick, but other sources say turn the box off for 36hrs
Fuck that shit, download the movies
