can anyone tell me if this html header is the best it could be, or is there some stuff that doesnt need to be there, does it meet standards etc

Take you pick, you dont show up on google at all there, Alot of others do, have a look at their keywords,
Then make sure you have at least 300 words on the front page of the site and integrate the keywords into the site, Its a good idea to finish the page with your main keywords as well.

yeah but if you search google for volkswagen forum we are like 3rd
same for seat forum etc
i only added the news bit this morning anyway

iv also just finished the content management for the news stories on the main page, so theres lots of words on there now, all relating to audi, vw etc

Meta tags don't mean much these days.
Try and get sites with good page ranks to link to you.

right another question, i see some sites have links underneath there search engine results

That description was in the meta many years ago I think, also perhaps has been used in submissions to DMOZ etc. in the past.
The links under are only with certain sites but also I don't think they're manual on account of the fact that they sometimes contain actual feature cars rather than categories of the site.
Just looks like popular click-throughs from the results.
