i have an sd card slot on my vaio laptop, but when i insert one and try to open it i get the error "The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error."
apparantly there is an update for "Texas Instruments® Integrated FlashMedia Controller" which fixes this problem, but i just cant find the update or anything else about it.
can anyone help me out? or any other ideas to fix it? the memory stick pro reader which is right next to it works just fine

Probably of no use, but my old Dell Desktop had a similar error with the pre-installed multicard reader unit. I took the case off and the lead was barely plugged in the unit hence causing exactly the same error. Not sure if it even plugged in like this on a laptop tho....
