I'm in the middle of putting a C16XE engine into my facelift Corsa b.
The C16XE is obviously out of the early GSi with normal PAS with the pump etc.
Slight problem is the engine is going into a Corsa with EPAS.
Has anybody else done a similar conversion? Can I use the engine mount off the 1.2 engine and just fit a shorter belt?
I don't want to just leave the PAS pump on the engine for fear of it seizing up without fluid running through it.

use a 'non pas non aircon' mount or just use your pas engine mount with the pump removed. do away with the tensioner and run the belt directly to the alternator and tension it with a bracket, like so:

Cheers Dave, So I can get do away with the PAS pump and tensioner and have the belt over the Alternator and bottom pulley. When you say tension with a bracket do you mean tension the belt by adjusting the alternator on a bracket?
Do the alternators have an adjustable bracket or will I have to make one up?
Is that a C16XE mate?

Easiest way is to get an auto tensioner and mount from a non pas non aircon 16v which is most 1.4 sports!

Is that the X14XE? I've checked EPC and that engine appears to share the same mount and tensioner as the X16XE and C16XE

Not sure on reg number, Does with VIN plate though. If you've got any info like that that you could u2u I'd appreciate it.
atm my engine looks like the one in the pic, minus the TB's. I've removed the PAS pump and tensioner so my mount is bare which leaves the bottom pulley and alternator only. I take it the auto tensioner bolts straight onto my original mount?

Wiring it into the C16 ECU was a pain for me although i don't know if you will expeirence the same difficulties, keep the 50A fuse and the associated wiring from the fuse box.....
Then again i did change the whole loom and this might vary with you

What's this mate? Wiring the EPAS into the C16 loom?
I've removed the full engine loom and ECU obvioulsy. when you say keep the 50A fuse and wiring from fuse box, Do you mean on the car with EPAS?

Yea, from the original loom, keep the fuse - the 50A one, if i remember correctly they go directly to the battery...
There are another 4 or 5 wires involved with it, on the original loom follow them from the EPS control unit into the loom to find where the join and split them off, then it was just a case of finding the corresponding splits in the C16 loom and join it in - was a very tedious job but well worth i say!

Good man
You've put the C16XE into what spec Corsa?
What mount and tensioner have you used to get around using the PAS pump from the C16XE?

To be truthfully honest it's a X16, i'm guessing the loom isn't vastly different - but then again i could be stupidly wrong!
Anyway, originally it was 1200 16v facelift

Balls, Thought you'd used the C16.

yes it is the tensioner in the bottom left corner it doesnt bolt onto the mount though it bolts on to the left of the engine below the alternator.

Ah that's why I was getting confused. I was thinking it bolted to the mount and couldn't work out how that would work.
I take there's holes to bolt the tensioner to my C16 block? Do I have to find a belt to fit or will the X14 belt fit?

You're a star Ainsley. I can see exactly how it goes now.
I'll check out the engine I have in the garage and get some more detailed pics and inspect it closer.

Is that your engine in the pic? That's an X16XE isn't it? Or the X14XE?

Looks like the X14, X16 and C16 share the same mount for non power steering cars.
