Don't want to test them all... so which is best?
VLC, Winamp, GOM?
Any others?
Cheers.

WMP is fine. I've always found the others to just be hacked about versions that don't do anything more anyway

I use VLC for videos because I seem to have playback issues with WMP 11 when certain codecs are needed. But for playing music I use WMP 11 because it's the software for my syncing my MP3 player.

Winamp for music and to upload music to my ipod and VLC/MPlayer (which is a stripped version of the old school window media player) for videos.
Find VLC is better for videos with odd codecs though both MPlayer and Winamp will do the trick if you have the codecs installed
