I've tried downloading the 2.0 update to my computer/memory stick, but it won't complete it, my ps3 isn't connected to the internet, will it be available on new release games, or is there another way to get hold of it?

Okay, I'll have to see. When connecting the ps3 to the internet do you have to have the ethernet cable connected to something? As you can guess, I'm not sure about computers and stuff!

the PS3 is wireless, but it also has the network adapter on the back. so if you have a wireless router you can get online that way, or alternatively plug the ethernet cable straight into your router/computer

I have a belkin thing, should the ps3 pick it up?

It's in a different room, I'm sure it says no ethernet cable connect when the router is on and I try and get on the internet.

Will it use my internet provider on the pc?

if the router is wireless and in range, then yes it should.

it uses the same internet provider as the pc

on your PS3 go over to the left on the main menu and go to settings
then network settings.
enable the internet connection,
then go down to internet connection settings
click easy
then wireless
then for WLAN settings click scan.
click your belkin router or whatever its known as.
click right, then right again.
you'll now get a box where you enter your wireless network key, enter your network key and press right. this is the same key as you use for your computer, it may be a password that you have set, or it may be a code on the bottom of the router itself
if its correct you'll get a settings list
press X and it'll save them for you.
then X again to test the connection.
this will then finish, press O and you're done.
now go and create a new account on the Playstation Network

okay, it's done it automatically, now on version 2.0

however, is the playstation protected against viruses from the internet?

and, how do I know what my 4 digit security code is?

registering for the playstation network is free, is playing games online free too?

security settings

change password

so when connected to the internet via ps3 you can't get viruses?

does it have any internet security as such?
