i have a 1.4 sport, i have been told that "apprently" if u take your EGR valve out, u can get more power, is this the case or am i being gulible? lol

i don't know about more power but it will stop it gunking up.

and ul get bit more throttle response as it wil chuck in just unsed gases not recirculated exhaust gas that has already been burnt off

Just means you wont get problems with the valve playing up.
