What is the depth of the exhaust manifold stud (the end that goes into the head)?

If you can tell me how thick the flange is I am pretty sure I have my old studs somewhere that I can measure up for you from the base of the head (obviously need to deduct the flange depth)
I have 28mm stuck in my head for some reason!?! Ideally you want them so they are not quite bottoming out in the holes as if they are too short you risk pulling the threads from the head when tightening due to it being soft alloy.

Well I need to know because I need to helicoil my head to stop the manifold blowing. I ain't going outside to check the flange depth because its minus 5 out there .

If you need to helicoil it, I am assuming you have a fair set of tools at your disposal!
I assume the stud is already out?
Have you got a depth gauge? Alternatively stick a small dowel down, mark where it comes from the head, measure it and knock 2 or 3mm off for safety sake and be cautious as you put it back in, you can always take more off the bolt!
