hi all..... recently got myself a pretty mint astra gsi over the weekend, pics to come soon!
however it is 10 years old so does have a few niggly faults...
1.heater blower only really seems to work on 4..... 1, 2, 3 doesnt really do much. (not as it should) ive got no idea!
2.locking wheel nut missing...... where can i get one from to get the wheels off....... do vaux do them new?
3.rear wiper not working........ any ideas? motor? is this easy to do?
any help plz

1. Might be the switch itself.
2. They are all 1 in a million. Most garages have tools to remove them. Can't you get in contact with the last owner and ask him if he still has it?
3. try fuse and relay 1st. after that check that you are getting power to the wiper. If you are then scrappers for a new motor.

2. few choices. you can hammer a socket onto the bolt and then use that to undo it. you can also drill a hole into the bolt and use stud extractors on it. also just drill the head clean off and then use grips to remove the remaining thread.

with the heater problem check the back of the unit to make sure the connector plus hasnt come out. Mine came loose and only setting 4 worked plugged it back in an all worked. If not that it could be the relay on the fan motor.

ah ok cheers mate ill look into them! so no way i can get the locking wheel nut from another car same make etc?
do you need the rear wiper to work for mot?

No, as then they security issue of locking wheel nuts would be out the window.
I know you don't have to have a rear wiper on the car for an MOT, but if you have one it might have to work!
Remove it and stick a rubber grommit in for the time being till you sort it!
