I have the above standard stereo in my car, and was just wondering if anyone knows any extra stuff about it apart from whats in the manual, in particular, does it have any pre-outs on the back so you could connect an amp to it or am I expecting too much!!!

No pre-outs I'm afraid, you'd be better off buying an after market head-unit, and it doesn't have to cost the earth to sound better than the standard one. Get any Alpine Head Unit if your budget allows.

It's Crap - I learned about the Stereo the hard way - i connected a pair of 220w 6x9's Rated 50watts power - and the stereo couldn't drive them.. no expansion options at all. no amp pre outs, no amp remote, no nothing, as basic as yer gonna get. Don't connect good speakers to it, unless the rated power of the speakers is about 30watts..

In my opinion adding an amp to the standard Vauxhall head unit is the best idea.
I added a phoenix gold amp + front components and a 10" sub and the quality is amazing.
Doing it this way the car looks standard (twocer scum wont wanna nick ur audio gear) and u save money not buying a new fascia and headunit.

easy m8 u connet the front/rear speaker wires to an amp thatsupports em. The audio quality is slightly inferior to that of a dedicated headunit with pre-outs, but even when i have the volume up the quality is still suberb.
u will need to go down to a audio specialist in your area get em to tell u the best amp for this type of connection.
