has it always done it?? theres 2 plugs round the back of the engine, red 1 n a black 1 i think, 1 goes to idle control valve and other to another sensor, im quite sure it the red 1 that should go the the idle controle valve. if you have them the rong way round it will make it idle at 2000rpm hope this helps

Have you checked to make sure that the throttle cable has the right amount of slack.
That or air leak like Sportycorsa86 said more than likily the inlet.
Spray a load of water round the inlet if it beginds to run funny then you know you have a leak as the inlet will suck the water in.
Good luck

the 2 clips are on the right way around. i no because i had that problem when i first started it and it jus bounced off the limiter over and over again. the throttle cable has enough slack and is nice and free. not sure if it is the crank sensor because the car drives fine. jus like i say the engine management light comes on when i floor it. havn't checked the inlet gasket yet but will do tonight and let ya no.
anymore suggestions. someone said to me it might be the thottle position sensor. what ya think
cheers for ur help
