hey all just wondering if you could help me out a bit on this.
1 night mates going along he reakons plenty of oil in it (but has been running low on it before and i kept on telling him to top it up) then oil light comes on and engine dies, including his battery (but this was because of he had music and lights on after his engine died.)
so he calls me i go down to where he is with tow rope and jump leads, we attempted to jump it first, and on first impression sounded like it was seized, all you could he was the soldnerd (SP) of the starter motor going in and out.
so i tow him home, now today he has managed to start it up am like wtf thought it was sezied (my old nova sezied)
but it sounds like a bag of shit tbh, that is a extremly loud noise sounds like tappets but louder and sounds like its coming from the engine block
my guess is big end shells, but am only on my 2nd year menchaic course so am not that good yet?
anyone share some light on this? it sounds like its coming from the bottem of the v belt area?
cheers

if he has run it that low, id say big ends have gone. And he will need a new crank if its seized and gouged the crank... Tell him he's a twat for letting the oil get that low.....

Sometimes engines can be free'd up after beign sezied but would be lucky to have no problems afterwards, which seems to be the case of your mate.
