i am 12 months into an 18 month contract with O2, does any one know if they allow you to upgrade to a newer phone this far before the contract ends?

Depends I just tried this they said I would have to pay it off (cancel) then I can take out a new contract but that costs a lot to cancel. But if you get the iphone with them they dont charge you to cancel just to buy the handset then you are begin a 18month contract again.
