Do i remove the shield i circled? looks pretty permanent but the text says remove the cover. any advice from any one who has them? pretty please

As dave said it stays in place, its part of the bulb
There should have been a cover over it? as shown in the pic beside the arrow thats what you remove, but going by your pic you already have removed it

There was no covers on them why i got confused.
Sorted now thou lads huge improvment. I'd put a pic up but dont know how to make images smaller.
