Is there an easy way to mask off the tyre? Someone suggested vaseline- how would that work?
Any help appreciated!

These were done with the tyres on...just put small strips of masking tape as close as possible between the wheel and tyre, then cover the tyre with newspaper also see matt l's garage

stick the masking tape to the very outer edge of the wheel and bend it backand then stick to the tyre mate

come off it my bodyshop masked up my wheels and 3 years later they are still mint so this DO PROPER JOBA IS RUBBISH, long as the wheel is prepped and keyed properly it will be absolutely fine

washing up liquid is the key lol, they way i have done a few sets are to use washing up liquid and a paint brush to paint it onto the tyre wall, this means that you can spray as much as you like onto the tyre and it will wash off when dry with a hose and sponge.

Well what i consider a proper job and what you consider a proper job are totally different.
If you class a proper job as spraying it like that then fair enough. I wouldnt class it as a 'proper job' but thats my opinion.

i do agree haimsey about taking the tyres off but even if u did a bodyshop would only still spray the front face of the wheels anyways, and like i said as long as the masking tape can be tucked deep between the rim/tyre and the edge of the tyre is PROPERLY keyed the paint will stick...
my wheels alone show keying is the key not the fact the wheel has been sprayed all over 3 years later and they still look as good as the day they was painted.......

Decent prep leads to best results. So i guess if you can work around the wheel it would work either way
