I've searched and couldn't find anything, but. When i start off in first gear i get a really weird grinding sound, almost like the exhaust is scraping alone the floor (But it isn't) and i get it in most gears.
If i'm slowing down, then speeding up again i get this grinding sound
I had this problem before and the vauxhall garage told me it was my steering rack and motor that needed replacing. However my exhaust went on me about 2 weeks ago and i got it repaired ( 2nd hand bit welded on ) and the sound went for a week. But now its back again. I'm not normally worried about sounds, because most cars have their own little sounds. But when people in the street turn around and look and people at traffic lights stare at me as we're pulling off, it makes me think its not normal.
Anyone have any ideas what this could be or had it themselves.
Many thanks

could it be a bearing mate? warped discs rubbing? pads sticking?

Had exact same problem on my XE Corsa. Hub had snapped inside bearing.
Most likely your bearings have gone.
