How do i get external power?
I need it for deck lights and power to my garage.
do i connet to existing internal socket and run a cable?

you need a direct feed from the mains with a rcd, and special outdoor armoured cable and outdoor sockets etc. there are regulations over what you can do im sure a sparky will be on soon to tell you exactly

If your not an electrician you should not take-on anything involving mains.
As above, all outdoor electricity should be protected by a 30ma RCD, you will need an armored cable (SWA) from your consumer unit to an outdoor junction box where it can then be distributed to where you need it.
