got my laptop reformated a wile ago, but since it has been there has been no sound comming from it, even when i put headphones in no joy.
am i missing drivers or something?
i dont have the windows xp disc so carnt reformat it again

Sounds like the drivers are missing. Look in the device manager to see if its installed or not.
