Evening all,

Cars just broken down and have just come from cardiff to rhondda (bout 30 miles) to my local garage and now home:-

When driving , then when brakes aplied the speed of car stopped dramatically then the car refuses to move, but with some encouragement to 4000RPM got it moving for bout 1/4 til i slowed down and refuses to go forward now.

The engine itself ticks over lovely but refuses to move.

A m8 who was with me rung our m8 whos "in the know" and said maybe the gearbox or the sender has dropped of it's mount and the recovery man said maybe the linkage!

Any thoughts on this one??

Cheers all.

Nah nothing at all which was disappointing!

Feels like something "engine" wise is stopping it go forward. It goes backwards fine...... Well did of the ramp of the recovery van anyway! lol

If the engine is reacting normally under throttle and revving etc. Then it must be some sort of transmission problem. I guess what part exactly, you'll have to wait and have investigated.

Hopefully small (and cheap!)

I have no idea what this means, swilliam dear boy speak english!

I know you cant move it, but if you give me a ring, when you are home around those times tomorrow, then I will bring a few tools over and the jack and have a look!

Could save you a few £££

At the end of the day Swill, you catch the train to work, so a car is not vital to you right now!

Well you'll laugh. I changed the discs recently with high help from Curl666 . Well on the passenger side the bottom allen key bolt on the caliper wasn't there!!

So when breaking it was digging into the alloy.............

So gta try and get the correct bolt then back on the road! lol

Defo, got my local gaage to draft the bolt in within 15min as vauxhall would have been closing in 15 min and it takes about 30 lol

So as he's ex-vaux there he got someone to drop it off so i paid £5 for bolt and him putting it on and checking all round, can't argue really!

Thanks for all the help though guys
