I phoned my insurance company for a quote on my new corsa......they had the details as a corsa gsi, but it's a corsa LS with a 1600cc engine from a nova (c16se).

They asked me for a engineers report, and full details for the engine..like, year of manufacture, bhp, was the nova hatchback? all these details....can anyone help me out on these details....because i dont know the guy who did the conversion...and there's no way of finding out.

Also they asked for the engineers report, what do they want to know?

Think basically engineers report wise they need to know if it's all safe and legit etc.

Think your local garaged can do them and the same time they should state all the engine information eg. Engine number etc

Should have thought anyway!

Hope this has helped

i've got the engine number...its down on the log book as a 1.6 and had a conversion...but the insurance company wants all the details.

I found out the engine came from an Astra, c16se?

Yea that sounds about right.

Well i'd goto:-

www.parkers.co.uk

And look up the closest match you can find, so if you know the rough age of astra it came from, then look for that astra with the 1.6 spec etc etc.

And basically the insurance want the engineers report basically to make sure it aint going to go "snap" and fall on the floor!

Hope it's helped

just been on the phone with norich union for over an hour!

They said everything was fine.....untill (im very sorry for making you wait over an hour...but you have to be 21 because the corsa is a high risk vehicle)

Does anyone know of acompany that will insure me under 21?
