Hey guys!
Just need some help with an engine mount problem.
I've bought the Chris Astley Mount kit, and am trying to get the rear mount onto the gearbox, but the spacer plates and the top bolt appear to be fouling on the mount itself...
Do i need to cut bits of the mount out, or should it fit straight in??
Anyone with any experience of doin a conversion, please give me some advice on this one!

Mine's been fine for ages. Looks good too.
Spacer caused me allsorts of grief. Chuck it in the bin and it was fine.

The engine won't sit on the piss. Mine doesnt and I didnt use a spacer. This is the case with countless others.
You will be able to keep the Corsa gear linkage also if you bin the spacer.

Just wondering then...what's the point in the spacers if i dont actually need them then?? You sure that wont cause other probems?

I don't actually no what the spacer is for tbh...
Take it from me...as someone who did their own conversion...it doesnt/won't cause you other problems.
I've been running my car for a couple of years this way and no issues whatsoever.
I've also had the engine out a couple of times and its always gone back in OK - so it wasnt just a fluke the first time

Hi mate, you can use the original 2.0 gearbox mount, all you need to do is grind off a 40mm by 10mm piece of the mount and it will just bolt str8 on. offer up the mount to the box and you will see the little pice of metal that needs removing. Easy!

if you dont use the spacer you have to space the mount about 20-25 mm i used 3x 12mm washers to do this all it does is just puts the mount inline so that it doesnt put stress on the rubber or gearbox mount points

Blood, sweat and tears with the spacer. Binned it and was good to go. No probs 15k on
