Ive decided that i am going to modify my 1.4 16v engine rather than buy a new car! got an insurance quote on a rs turbo = joke!! so if i can get 125 bhp in my corsa itll be nearly as fast i hope!!
Right then i need advice on following:

which inlet manifold is the best: mantzel, lexmaul, dbilas etc

which cams to go for: piper road/rally etc

whcich chip will aslo be best: unichip, super chip

anything else worth getting done to the engine?

im looking to spend £1500 including fitting for the above and would like to see 125 bhp, i know matt c got 135 but he spent loads on the engine! then il do 2.0 ltr when i get to 19 and can afford insurance

cheers brad

Trust me, for 125bhp in a 1.4 you are talking major £££'s.

Do the wise thing and get a 2.0 16v for £2k tops then get a good quote from LV. If your like 17 or 18, you're wasting your time. Do what every other youngster does and wait your turn!

Modding your 1.4 16v engine will make your insurance go up a lot more than you think, esp given your age.

As said, stick with an induction kit n zorst, give it a year or so and u'll find that u want a lot more than 120bhp!!!

1.4 16v engines lack the torque u need to make it go fast!

yeah i suppose so, i dont know whether to bother modding the engine or buy another car in a year or so, looked at lots, punto's,fiesta's etc but still find the build quality and interior and exterior looks of the corsa beats them all!
what insurance group is a 2.0 ltr 16v redtop?
im under a family insurance policy till im 21 and only pay £600 fc now for my sport all mods declared

How can u get a small % of no claims?

either u get a years ncb, or u don't. Simple

2.0litre will be gp 15 for insurance from a 1.4 16v. Major body modifcations put it up to a group 12.

what do you mean that major body mods put it up to a grp 12?? so with my car with full kit and 17's etc what group is that?
cos insurance bloke said it doesnt matter, and i had to pay like £80 for stainless exhaust and air filter
