i have a corsa 1.4 hi torq.
its leaving little spots of oil on the garage floor! last time it did this the grage said it was the rocker cover gasket the top one but now its doing it again on the right hand side lower corner "standing facing the front of the car-engine" where the head meets the block there is new oil coz i wiped it all clean so cud this bethe head gasket gone?? or is it the roker box one gone again and its running down the engine and pooling there and there also another gasket inbetween the head and the rocker box one but i dont think its this
please help coz its driving me nuts trying to find where its comming from so i can fix it the cars done 60 odd thou miles and is n reg

No not on my corsa but it could rocker cover again re- tighten but only a little if you over tighten you will squeeze the gasket out. I did this on my nova, i hope this helps Gizzmo (the rabbit) Lee

well the garage wo did it the first time arnet that great and there is 2mm off gasket sticking our already! have they fucked it?

Possibly on mine it does not show. The best was to do it is a gentle nip the warm up and a light touch for luck. This how i did it on my nova that was cork and it worked a treat Gizzmo (the Rabbit) Lee

mine is cork so do i get a new one and tighten it up gently?

well it is up to you how about goto a different garage play dumb i.e i have some oil from some where could you look and trace it for me please i think it might be rocker cover but im not sure many thanks. try this first save your money Gizzmo (the rabbit) Lee

i have a mate who works for lookers hes had 3 xr3i's 3 nova's and a mondeo so he knows stuff but hes a buzy guy to get hold off
how do you mean you fixxed yours? how i read but dont understand it?

I had a nova and the rocker cover gasket was weepin a little bit for sake of a few quid i fixed. I can,t say what it is leaking on your car with out looking at it Gizzmo the rabbit (Lee) what area do you live in?

What i mean is go to a different garage in your area and get a second opinion. Play dumb don,t say it has been fixed. Just say i have a oil leak. Gizzmo the rabbit (Lee)

Yes that should work. But i wanted to get a new one because i did not know how old the gasket was Gizzmo the rabbit(Lee)

Just get another one couple quid dead easy to fit.
Make sure all the gasket surface are clean just it on dont tighten it up to much as it expands when it absorbs some oil

lookers want 35 for a compression test and another 350 to do the haed gasket if its that!
what an are ther goes putiing my ally's on
