Depends on what has been done to the engine. Neither will be benificial on a standard engine.

Superchip may give 4bhp if you have say an exhuast and an induction kit. All it will do though is raise the rev limit and with no mods there would be no point as the cars peak power would still be in the current rev range.

If you are thinking about furthur mods i.e headwork and cams then I would suggest a Unichip as these are mappable. All a superchip can do is alter the fueling a tiny bit and raise your rev limit.

Chips should come last mate, well not last just the same time as other mods which need more fuel and that give there peak power at a revolution higher than what the standard ecu can go to.

For a little over £300 you could have some hi-torque camshafts fitted by Courtenay. They are not to higher profile so you won't need any piston modifications and they will just fit straight in and should give around an extra 10bhp and 10lb/ft. This extra power would also be in the current power band so the use of a chip would still be unecessary! A Mantzel box would be a good choice after this and with a chip you would be looking at around 120bhp.
