Quick question, I'm with o2 at the minute with £30 for 500 texts/400min. I've asked to downgrade the best they can do is £25 a month for 200/200.
Which is rubbish, they do one at the moment for £25 and you get 400 texts I must be able to get this surely?

Unless it's one of those 'New Customers Only' deals.

o2 offer all new contracts to existing customers and give them 'o2 treats' such as extra minutes for rewarding loyalty, try ringing them back and explaining that you could just take out a new contract with 02 and get the deal, so can they not change you on to it.
I did this today for my mums contract, and the 1st person i spoke 2 was a dick, so just rang back and the next person sorted it out rly quickly and easily.

I got one on orange the other week, for £20 a month i get 300 minutes, unlimited texts, picture messagng, mobile internet access and free answerphone for £20 a month. Was with them for a long time on pay and go and got offered this, and it actually works out about £15 a month cheaper for me
