I'm intending on changing the cv boot tomorrow on the passenger side on the wheel side. Can i change the cv boot by just taking the cv joint off the driveshaft? i have never had to change one before!

yes you can mate.A circlip holds it in on the back of the cv joint itself.Slide new boot on and replace cvj.
