ive asked before for help regarding this but with no joy this time i really need to know,

after around 3-4k revs the gears are solid to change and i mean solid until u dip the clutch and leave revs come back down,

ive been told it could be my gearbox oil but im not convinced i dont know how to check this level anyway and where to look so could someone enlighten me,

the other theories ive been given is the synchros have gone or it could be my clutch but my mate thinks its the synchros as its all the gears!

because i was told this i now have a gsi gearbox in the boot ready to go in but i havent paid for it yet so before i pay for it and fit it with tom_simes and Rob E i need to know is it even worth changin the gearbox as my engine and box has only done 59k and the gearbox i have has done 85k

any help would be very much appreciated,

I doubt it's the synchro's in all gears, one gear yeah but not all.

Does it grind, when changing or jsut refuses to go in?

as john said it wont be every gear the synchro rarely goes on vauxhall gearboxes, plus you have a seperate synchro for every gear so that isnt your answer, wats ur clutch like.

Dont just top up the gearbox oil change it this will help for sure!

I could not even select first gear or it was really hard changed oil and it was sorted.

Use to work for Renault and this would happen once or twice and simple to sort.

For the sake of £20 as well i would start there

its my own fault from being a clown in the past but now ive had enough and have money to do it i wanna fix it, when i move the gearstick back and forth in neutral it feels a lot more loose than when i first had it and it is gradually gettin lower down the rev range that the gear change gets stiffer,

it doesnt crunch at low normal driving revs and it dont crunch at high revs its just solid to change, could it be the friction plate on my clutch? first thing im gonna do i think is change gearbox oil if it still does it then il look into it further
