is it a solid wall?
use a padsaw if it's plasterboard.

wouldn't bother with that tbh. i can do it better by drawing around a back box and it will be a lot quicker also.

i fitted a new double socket last week, drew round the backbox with a pencil, then used a steak knife to cut out the plasterboard

worked though

Why the fuck you need one of them?!
Stud Wall, draw around the dry-line box and cut out with a padsaw
Brick / Block wall, draw around metal backbox, (drill a few holes in it if its brick) then chisel it out.

Takes a couple of minutes at the most

"Pattress template" but agreed why?

I cut every one of my 20+ sockets (upstairs) by hand and they al fit perfectly

3 x doubles in bedroom 2 and bedroom 3; 4 x in bedroom 1; a TV point in each bedroom, shaver socket in bathroom, 1 x double on the landing; 2 x Double sockets in the loft, 1 Single socket in the Airing cupboard (for the combi) plus the phone points
