So i had my corsa MOT'd yesterday (a 1.4 8v) and i ended up with a couple of red sheets!
Some of them are easy fixes, but some i need a little advice on! The list is below!
001 - Nearside front seat belt stalk deteriorated
002 - Offside front seat belt stalk deteriorated
003 - Nearside wiper blade insecure
004 - Nearside winderscreen wiper does not clear screen
005 - Exhaust emissions lambda reading after 2nd fast idle outside specified limits
006 - Nearside headlamp aim to high
007 - Offside headlamp aim to high
008 - Exhaust has major leak of exhaust gases
009 - Exhaust has part of the system excessively deteriorated
010 - Nearside CV joint gaiter insecurely mounted to housing
011 - Nearside front vavle stem seriously mis alligned (what the hell is that??)?
012 - Parking brake lever has no reserve travel
013 - Front brake application uneven
014 - Offside parking rear parking brake recording little or no effort
015 - Parking brake efficiency below requirements
016 - Front brake imbalance
Then, got a yellow warning of low pads, seat belt (front) and an oil leak!
Failed also on -
fast idle, lambda read 0.970-1.030, actual 1.119.
fats idle, lambda read 0.970-1.030 actual 1.200.
Sooooooooooooooo, some of the things look like quick fixes (new wiper, twiddle the headlamp screw to adjust aim, new disks and pads for the front and maybe cable tie CV boot back on), but what about the rest?
Should i just lob abit of exhaust paste on the exhaust (only around the joints, not if its a huge hole) and chuck in a set of harnesses for the re-test or source new pre-tensioners?
Any one got any thoughts on the above, and if you have any suggestions about how to fix them they would be welcomed greatly!!

All those are a days work max. Nothing really.
Apart from 011-Ring up and ask him to explain exactly what that is.

valve stem is the little thing you pump your tyre up with! Might be caught on your hub cap!

Did you not bother checking your motor before you put it for a test?
