i just rebuilt the head on my car and re fitted it, whilst doing this i fitted a mantzel style inlet manifold, when i started the car i found it to be reving up just past 1.5 grand then dropping down, then immediatly reving up again then back down, so i took the new inlet off and covered the gasket with sealant, and also put some sealant around the throttle body blanking plate, left it to dry over night and started it tonight, is was better but reving high again then it started to rev up and down upi and down like before, anyone know what the problem could be.

idle speed controll valve..
take it out and clean it

if there was a air leak it wouldjust rev high all the time...

ok mate, which one is that because there are 2 on the throttle body? a small 3 pin one with a yellow rubber and a larger 4 pin with a blue rubber? also what can i clean it with

carb cleaner to clean it mate... but tbh im not 100% theres only 1 icv not sure which is wich..
