If the ECU light isnt flashing then its not the in built immobiliser, that code could have been stored for a while because it once didnt recognise the transponder.
It the engine turning over normally and just not starting?

engine turning over but not fireing up like the immobiliser stoping fuel getting through. fault code 85 is the only one showing up. it started fine this morning but went to go out again and it wouldnt start. the time and date been reset to 1992 but the battery has full charge. is there a fuse for the fuel pump or immobiliser i could check see if its blown?

There is a fuse for the fuel pump, just check them all. if your time and date has reset then its lost power at some point, check all the wires are tight to the battery and check for any that have snapped off

any chance it could be the fuel pump?? was thinking it myght not be getting enough fuel to fire up and causing funny errors on diog. coz the engine managment light dont flash when i put the key in but it stays on and says its fault code 85 immob wrong signal.

so when you turn it over does it go to start or just turns over nothing at all? way to check is disconnect the fuel inlet to the injector/s and put the ignition on and if nothing happens then turn it over to see if petrol sprays out!be careful make sure theres no sorce of ignition nearby and you have a rag to soak it up
