Mount them on brackets.

use a sealent in the window seal, then put a rivit (spaced so the window seal still fits along the top of the door), to stop them moving anywhere

I just make two brackets for them to sit in, slide the window in place using the original seals etc then fit the brackets in the correct position.

no mate, remove all that

put the window in, with the orginal seals in place, just remove the one that runs along the top of the door from the mirror to the b pillar

the window will sit in the top seals really tightly, you can lay sealent in the top to be 100%, or just put a rivit through the lip on the door where the seal would lay

just leave enough space so you can fit the seal back on, and let it slide between the window and the door
