i was drivin down the road an the oil light came on so i turned the engine off an rolled to a stop, checked all the oil and it was fine!
so i started the car agen and the oil light was still on and it was makein an awful knockin sound!
so i waited 5 mins and drove the car home slowely as i was only down the road, wen i got home i realised the knockin had stoped! :S wot could that have been??

sounds silly did you wipe the dipstick and recheck it on a level surface???

yer! its still knockin abit but not as much, i think that it was just shitty oil an it may hav clogged up or somethin so im gna change the oil and filter, wots the best oil to use for a 1.4 sport?

well it depends where the pressure is building up if its the pressure relief valve lol have fun with that, but i would try some engine flush and 10/40w good quality oil like castrol and a new filter

If the light comes on there's no pressure, not too much.

so shall i jus take all the oil out and filter and put new oil an filter in and see how it goes? wot is engine flush?

dont use engine flush, worst thing possible, its meant to was all the crap that builds up in the engine but an awful lot just gets washed to the bottom of the engine and as soon as you start it back up it goes into the pipework and then you got another job to do..

either chance buying a new oil pressure switch or get the oil pressure checked at a garage, sounds to me like you have a bad oil pump or relief valve

i think the sump mite be blocked coz its just recoverd from head gasket and the whole sump was full of yellow gunk its probably blocked that pipe, cnt remember wot its called

yer well it was changed like 5 times wen we done the head gasket just to clear all the shit and i changed it today but i think theres some shit blocked somewhere

i had a 1.2 corsa.. i had the head skimmed then the oil light came on... the bottom end went and conrod came throught the block couple days later... turns out the head being skimmed cause to much pressure for the bottom end to cope. hope the same doesnt happen to you cause it cost me a lot of money

well it drived fine, now so i dont think its that! i think the sump is just blocked, it rattles abit but i think thats just a tappet problem
