hay peeps i have a x14xe with mantel style powerbox, sport cat, cat back system, and panel filter with drilled air box
now my problem is it bogs down when pulling away and it feels like its not got enough omph to pull the skin of a rice pudding.
also the car is hanging onto the revs a little which is a git.
i have changed the cts before now and the lambda/oxygen sensor.
dont know what it could be really, i am going to the scrappers on thursday so i should be able to get some bits then.
so any help please peeps thanks

is the exhaust system the same diameter all the way through it ??
or anything wrong with the egr or block intake pipe
i once had a car come to workshop struggling to drive and found a few leafs just in front of air flow meter.

engine warning light comes on if you give it death in 5th but goes when you turn the ignition off then back on. and it hasnt stored the code.
have tryed pper cliping the car, just keeps flashing code 12.
tryed flash coding the MFD and it comes up with code 93 i think looked it up and its the secondery air pump, its because where ive fitted the inlet manifold i havent run a vacume pipe to the valve on the exhaust manifold
and yep exhaust is the same diameter all teh way through

i had the exact same problem on my old sport in fifth and i could never get it right, but when stripping the car i did find outthat the fuel pump was goosed as i sold to a mate with a c20xe and it wouldnt run (bog down and splutter) so this may have been the problem,

have you not got engine light on now and again? is there a bulb for the engine light?
coolant temp sensor can cause this, had this on my redtop. felt like it was running onb 3 cylinders in 5 gear and when you pull hard away from a junction it with splutter as the ecu fort it was always cold

recently had a fuel filter when i done the last big service about 10k ago,
there is a eml which comes on if you give it death through 4th into 5th but the car will only do about 105mph at most now struggles like hell to get past 90.
it has dne this for quite some time now but ive never known whats going on, was a rocket when i bought the car 3 years ago.
and the car doesnt bog down all the time, like today it pulls away fine but 5 minuits down the road it boged down, then after that it run fine for the rest of the day, just seems to struggle when on full chat (which is thought would be vastly improved with the mods done but obviously hasnt)

is it relly like a bogging, or does it seem like the engine is strangled and wont push anymore even tho it sounds as tho it wants to

oh it sounds like it just cant go, like when you pull away it feels like your pulling away in 3rd, and at full chat on motorway it feels like you have something holding the engine back it getts louder due to your foot being planted and you know its struggling

what condition are your hydraulic tapets in? are they noisey on start up ect?
could be that arent filling up quick enuff.
still sounds to me like a cooland temp sensor problem,
had exact same symtoms your describing, every1 told me it was cos i had a leaking exhaust but was a broken cooland temp sender wire

im pritty sure the wiring is ok as its never been touched i'll grab a cts tomorrow aswell. the engine itself is verry quiet tappets are ok it doesnt tap knock at all, just thinking could it be injectors being a older car now?

always worth looking at.. i'll try cts and fuel pump get a set of injectors then get them cleaned and see how it goes.
