Seen as i have a spare sub and amp sitting in my room collecting dust iv thought about hooking it up and putting it to use.

Is this possible? how would i go about this?
The main issue that comes to y mind is somehow powering the amp/sub as obviously its not a240v plug in wall etc

You need to be able to change the power from 12V DC to 240V AC, which will be the biggest issue.

As for the speakers - most amps run at 4 ohms, but home audio usually runs at 8 ohms.

I'd say its probably better to buy a dedicated house set up tbh.

Impedance doesn't matter, it's not running a car sub off a home amp, both are from a car.

You'd need a 12v inverter, probably a fairly hefty one then a line level input, it would work.
