basicly as some know i've painted my bumper top, well i've noticed theirs a big chuck of satin black paint on the black part of the bumper and i don't know how its got their and it i know it hasn't been their long but i need to get rid of it. any idea's?
i have thought about flatting it down and polishing it up to see if the old colour comes through but i only have a weak cutting paste aka black t-cut.
and if i don't have to paint it that would be brill
cheers dan

Black Sapphire is the current Vaux black and has been used from 2001 onwards. Yours is probably Midnight Black, or just Black as it was used from 91-00. Check your paint code against this list: http://www.astraownersclub.com/vb/showthread.php?t=82172 You can find your paint code on the plastic thing stuck in the engine bay on top of the bar that the headlights, bumper etc are bolted to (forget what it's called now) to the right of where the bonnet locks in. You can see it in this pic:
It's funny how the satin paint is in a very specific place, it was obviously masked off etc, not just whacked on
